When I update Linux servers, I always reboot them at the end. I believe that loads all the newest code and makes sure that no known bugs are running on the system.

With modern #ubuntu #debian is that really true though?

Yes, it is still the easiest way to boot into the latest kernel and make sure all your applications and services have restarted into the new versions. There are methods to boot into the new kernel without restarting but it's not worth it unless you can't stand any downtime.
