a while ago my dad got one of those shitty video doorbell things and now every time anyone gets anything delivered, even if i'm sitting right there at the door and grab it immediately i get a text from him every three minutes like "delivery" "something got delivered" "did you get the delivery" "hello?" "there was a delivery" until i respond to him

like it's usually even for him but i keep wanting to tell him "you know we were doing just fine before you shattered even the illusion of us having any privacy"

@monorail I really don't understand the fascination with monitoring every aspect of our own lives. As if we weren't being tracked by enough things already. The only valuable use I have seen has been for catching "porch pirates" but that's not personally a problem that has impacted me.
