@InternetRooky lmfao it’s not Firefly! I’ve never actually seen it (yet)! But if I told you what the show was, I’d probably nearly doxx myself, since it’s so niche. 😜 I’ve thought about doing an anonymous blog for the show, but I like the way some podcasts play one or two few-second clips to emphasize a scene or important point and I’d love to be able to do that as part of the analysis every episode.

@krock 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am laughing but tbh I’m sure someone out there is legit trying to make something like this a reality to market to big pharma and consumers - “no need for invasive colonoscopies! No need to mail your stool sample in a box to a lab! Want to know what triggered your IBS last night?” etc

@krock right? “Oh if you have nothing to hide then that means I can read through your diary, right?” Or “if you have nothing to hide, can I read all your texts on your phone right this second?” Most would object to any of those questions - so why not have the same reaction to your data being sucked up by Google, etc. or when you willingly give it to them?

@InternetRooky I would. My favorite TV show doesn’t have any podcasts (that I’ve found) and I would love to do a deep dive on it since it only got one season before cancelation. Like was already mentioned, just doing simple voice change stuff like increase/decrease pitch would be too easy to decode I think, so a voice anonymizer would need to be more complex or random. Or just use a computer voice to read out the script? (So impersonal, though.)

@krock whenever people say they have “nothing to hide” it makes me wonder if they shit with the bathroom door open in public or when guests are over at their house, or if they lock their front doors or even bother having a front door at all. I mean, if you have “nothing to hide”… right?

@Wetrix ouch, no fun! 😖 Jealous that you hardly get headaches, though - I have one right now and am about to crawl into bed early. I’m prone to headaches and lately I’ve been getting them almost everyday, but I think some of them might be from too much peanut butter? That it’s going to rain in 2 days when it rained all last week? Who knows!😩

@Wetrix I just cried into my soup the other day about these same sentiments lol. When I was a small child, I used to freak out and cry because “if an asteroid can just hit the planet and kill all the dinosaurs, can’t the same thing happen to us, too?” I was so concerned with the state of the planet and distressed that “not enough” people cared about preserving it so we could all continue to live on it harmoniously. 😞

@resist1984 @meejah This! Doesn’t every family have a dedicated “menu drawer” in their kitchen? 😂 Lots of Asian food places have done the “include a paper menu with your order” for forever, so we’d always have a couple copies in the kitchen menu drawer, a few at work, give em to friends and family, keep one in the car glovebox, etc. Free advertising!

Uncle passed away fairly suddenly recently. Former friend passed away recently as well (we had our differences and I wish things hadn’t ended the way they did, but like, wow, what the fuck). One of those days I wish I didn’t live so far away from my friends. :(
