@syntax I use a combo of all of these.
I honestly just wish MySudo would quit relying on Google/Apple services for app functionality. That's the only reason I haven't become a paid subscriber.
Given that one of the first recommendations in the privacy community is to dump large tracking companies like Google, I'm saddened that MySudo relies on these companies to make their app function. Hopefully they change that in the future.
@syntax Here are a couple I've personally used, but I don't know specifics around UK numbers. These are NOT endoresements, and I haven't analyzed their privacy policies.
SignalWire: BY far the easiest to get up and running and cleanest interface.
VoIP.ms: The website is old fashioned, and they don't support MMS, but they had good call routing options.
If you want full call and MMS functionality, you have to go with Broadband or a reseller. Pinger app (aka TextFree) MIGHT work with Lineage?
@syntax I was trying to do the exact same thing a while back: looking for MySudo replacement. Are you specifically looking for Twilio voip? Lots of cheaper, easier platforms out there. I found twilio uniquely challenging to work with. Try a different Voip provider perhaps.
@freddyym ‘Hey’ looks interesting, but not zero knowledge like ProtonMail or tutanota.. doesn’t have a calendar, no custom domain support, and it’s more expensive. I’m not seeing the advantage.
@freddyym it’s run by Fastmail, so seems legit. I love that they have hardware token option as second factor. Seems like an expensive alternative to something like simplelogin or anonaddy though, which give you unlimited aliases.
@jonah Ohh myyyy.
Law enforcement scoured protestor communications and exaggerated threats to Minneapolis cops, documents from #BlueLeaks show https://theintercept.com/2020/06/26/blueleaks-minneapolis-police-protest-fears/
@micahflee I know you’ve supported/posted about Keybase in the past. I’m curious on your opinions about Keybase now that they’re owned by zoom. Do you suggest leaving the platform? If so, are there similar/better platforms that have similar functionality? Thanks!
If you want to share a file with a friend or colleague, you don't have to trust a third party service. You can use OnionShare.
The newest version even lets you publish static websites as onion services.

@micahflee Same reason why Trump can post hate or violent speech in violation of platform policy and is still on the platform. Money and too many complaints of Wikileaks were silenced. Smaller entities are easier to silence.
@freddyym Very curious what they’ll come up with.

@blacklight447 @Tutanota I just want a secure Android phone. I don’t care who writes it. I am concerned what happens to Graphene if Daniel stops working on it. Does it have enough developers to support it? It seems Copperhead has actual employees, so might be able to support the product while surviving the loss of any one person. Honestly I just wish they’d quit bickering and just focus on their individual projects. I don’t think they compete for customers, given people can’t download Copperhead
