Why can I not seem to find any online stores for #DRM-free #ebooks which aren't using #GoogleAnalytics and which accept #crypto without relying on services like #BitPay?

My various setups (primary machine, home #network etc.) seem to challenge me weekly, but the satisfaction of fixing issues and taking back control makes the stress worthwhile. I love #selfhosting, and every day is a school day. I recently repurposed an old 1TB HDD as a #NAS and want to try some kind of #mediaserver, but Netflix has become an expectation in the household. Share your #RaspberryPi / other self-hosting project ideas!

Now running minimal vanilla #Debian on my #RaspberryPi 4B for #Pihole. Unfortunately I tried but failed to boot with root mounted to #HDD. After the third attempt's kernel panic due to "no working init found", I gave up. I now at least have swap disabled on #SD and Pi-hole logs disabled. Any other tips for SD longevity?

Now I get why people are reluctant to use SDs in their #RaspberryPi. I have what's quite clearly a worn or corrupted SD (which is used for the whole filesystem). I'm getting #dpkg fatal errors, terminal quirks and all sorts of funny business. Fingers crossed a #fsck can do the trick. If not, I'll need to reinstall everything :( I think I should invest in an m.2 adapter or just plug in a spare SSD via USB and mount the filesystem on that. Any better suggestions? I use this Pi 24/7 for #DNS.

What the F*** is #Microsoft doing in my Pi's apt sources list. This is some bitter irony - I use this almost exclusively for #Pihole. I was wondering what all the hype was about recently and now it's clear. Where can I find out more about why this has happened and what, if anything, is being done about it?
