Mozilla Google budget screaming

Something is just wrong here... Mozilla just extended its deal with Google (making it the numero uno search engine) for something like 400 million dollars PER YEAR. For the next three years.

That is 1.2 BILLION dollars from 2020 to 2023.

If you cannot run a freaking NON-PROFIT on 400 MILLION dollars PER YEAR that means:

a) You are paying your executives too much.
b) You don't know how to manage a non-profit.
c) All of the above.

First time testing web for courses today. Now I can really appreciate the importance and added value of well-written alt text for images, having labels etc. I tested with the screen reader software .

Do you have any thoughts, tips or resources related to accessibility?

Hey devs, please use semantic html. This is important!

When listing things, use ul/li! When writing things, use p! When adding navigation, use nav! When putting the main part of your website inside a div, use main! Please use h1, h2, h3 for your titles! Don't use table for layout, they are for data!

Screen readers users have shortcuts to jump to all those parts of your website instead of reading it from top to bottom. But it only works with semantic html. So please help them! :tealheart:

An IGF Workshop on decentralization and regulatory approaches to opening up big platforms, which I am a panelist at, is confirmed:

I am there very specifically to talk about #Fediverse and give perspective on how this federated social network deals with problems like hate speech, bad actors, etc; and to talk about what a sane and practicable plan for opening up the social walled gardens could be.

I would love to pick your brains on all of this. Will ask specifics soon.

Any services you'd recommend for rental? I'm at my wit's end with VPS.net. every time my VPS goes through maintenance and is rebooted, my network interfaces fail and need to be reconfigured. My website and @nextcloud instance has been down for days now. I love the idea of solely using , but they're expensive just for unsensitive use cases etc.
