@Cambria
Sounds good. I recently bought a used Thinkpad x131e and will always try to avoid buying new hardware in the future (except for Raspberry Pis etc.).

@Cambria
Do you have any recommendations for places/sites to get hold of Thinkpads/parts? I'm based in the UK. Would love to get an old device and bring it back to life.

Hello, ThinkPad friends!

Do you know about @kev's #100DaysToOffload challenge[1]? It's very interesting.

What do you think if there is a similar challenge but to write about #ThinkPad topics instead of other topics? The result will be perhaps many ThinkPad articles from many persons? With less stricter rules perhaps. I'd like to hear your comments.

No, the Ideapad 100s is a small laptop, very basic specs (I think 2GB RAM, ~50GB storage). Now I've just invested in a second Thinkpad.

@adnan360
I believe they're currently working on bringing support for usernames (or similar anonymous identifier) rather than phone numbers.

I've just about had it trying to run on a spare/travel 100S. (Currently having issues with battery not being detected.) I'm almost set investing in another second-hand (my daily driver). Any recommendations for ethical stores shipping Lenovos sans Windows? I'm only after 4GB RAM, ideally lightweight and small.

@nebunez
This is a good debate. Personally I find myself a beginner in both Python and JS. I use JS more as I do more web development. As much as I'm enjoying it, I'm also aware of the negative aspects, and I wouldn't use it if it created a barrier to accessing my content etc. If it doesn't add value (and isn't ethical), I can't justify using it.

Concerned about Co-op's decision to deploy invasive facial recognition tech and its creeping roll out across the UK?

@Wetrix @nikolal That heart-shaped icon you used earlier is the Gentoo logo.

@Wetrix Unfortunately I think Trump of all people would never pardon him, but maybe Biden will see sense sometime soon...

I hope you'll all be tuning in to watch et al this evening, for @torproject 's next . Looking forward to it. invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=

@borjamoya Hi Borja, I finally got round to watching your short film, which I had bookmarked for a while. Great work, I enjoyed it. It's also great to see you've worked with @openrightsgroup. Maybe we could collaborate someday. I make free elearning courses with FOSS, about privacy and security: lms.samhowell.uk

@alt3
Hi. Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback. Yes, it would be great to be able to embed Invidious videos into the LMS but I don't think it's possible. I could have sought permission to embed the videos themselves. But unless I was able to do this for all video content, it would seem inconsistent.

RT from Gabriel Weinberg (@yegg)

Instead of "bringing people together," Facebook has torn societies apart.

It's a privacy nightmare: Internet surveillance + anti-competitive acquisitions/tactics = filter bubbles, discrimination, polarization, etc.

Facebook was never going to fix itself.

Imagine a world without opensource, and the only operating system that exists is Windows.

I seriously wonder: would I still be as excited about computers & tech? Would I have moved on and found another profession in life?

Thanks to everyone involved in opensource. I can't repeat this often enough ❀️
