Who enjoys irony?
My new course features learning about @torproject, their mission, how #Tor can be used to protect your #privacy, circumvent censorship etc.
As soon as one of my friends tries to enter the course on her company network, it's blocked due to https://torproject.org being in their 'Anonymizer Category'.
2. Let me know if you'd like me to create an account for you on the freelearning site. I can add you as a user and send you your details via DM, Signal, Element, email (incl. PGP), etc. This will mean you can properly log in as a learner, track your progress across modules, submit feedback etc. and you'll be able to self-enrol on any future freelearning courses.
The course is here: https://lms.samhowell.uk
I may post some demos tomorrow.
Let me know if you have any questions. - 2/2
I'm pleased to announce my #elearning course #DigitalPrivacyEssentials is now live and free for all to access. If you're interested in taking the course, you have 2 OPTIONS:
1. Go to the URL provided below and log in as a guest. This is the easiest method, but will lack features like the ability to submit feedback and track your progress through the course. Guest access is only really meant for previewing content, and doesn't provide the full learner experience. So I recommend...

My younger brother just gave me a 5th Gen Kindle Fire that he just replaced. I've been looking all over the internet for resources that could help me install Linux on it but the internet is failing me tonight.
Does anybody here have experience or links I can click that relate to installing Linux on the device? If so, please fire a reply my way.

Keyoxide Project Update #1

Been a bit busy lately: creating a non-profit foundation, getting a grant and releasing a #node library! 😎
Oh, and there's a Keyoxide Matrix room now! #keyoxide:matrix.org 🤩

The developers of Signal are currently doing a user survey:
https://surveys.signalusers.org/s3
I told them that I really like the app but also that I would like:
a) Signal on @fdroidorg
b) a proper desktop client
c) no data stored in "secure enclaves"
Maybe you'd like to tell them, too?
Gitea allows you to login with #openid and I would like to evaluate what the advantages are and how to set it up, both from client and server perspective (on gitea this last bit is in the docs).
All the information I come across just breathe "it's-complicated" and serve to confuse me.
What OpenID clients do you use, and do you use them to access #gitea, #gitlab #github etc.?
#LibreOffice is our everyday go-to for spreadsheets and documents. Why use products from #privacy invading big tech companies, when there is a legit #opensource alternative with a rapid development cycle?
Better yet, you can be part of the change to smaller tech:
Make the decision to use #foss products.
And if you’re planning on helping others protect themselves online, we’ve got resources to help! Our Security Education Companion has lesson plans, guides, graphics, and more to help you communicate the complex ideas that can help others stay secure: http://sec.eff.org
In a world where technology can mean the difference between life and death, can we afford the restrictions proprietary software places on progress? Watch and share "Rewind," our latest video promoting #UserFreedom: https://u.fsf.org/rewind

Yeah it's really impressive. I mostly use my instance for personal project management (with the Deck kanban app), but would love to use Talk more, collaborate with others etc.
📱 Time to update: Tor Browser 10.0.3 for Android is out now.
