Now this is a cool project for those who need a colour pallet.

@Matter Certainly better than GitHUb in terms of openness etc.

@Matter I should rephrase that. I meant that GitLab isn't entirely open. It's open for the free tier, but this doesn't include a lot of other features people need. Just recalling what I heard recently on a podcast. To be honest, I'm still in the process of weighing up the options

@Matter I also considered Codeberg after reflecting more on the fact GitLab isn't truly open source (and certainly not FOSS)

@blacklight447 @signalapp@mastodon.social Hmm. Yeah I don't know what's going on with my install, but I don't use the desktop version much anyway -- though it's sometimes very handy instead of having to grab my phone

@signalapp@mastodon.social I'm getting this error when I try to open 'signal-desktop' (for Debian). Not sure why it's suddenly decided to stop working after most recent update... "The SUID sandbox helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly. Rather than run without sandboxing I'm aborting now. You need to make sure that /opt/Signal/chrome-sandbox is owned by root and has mode 4755. Trace/breakpoint trap"

@nextcloud I'm loving the new version of . However, it appears the for check boxes is no longer supported. Also my (updated) app via -Droid fails to sync.

@Downes @dajbelshaw Yep, that's pretty much it. I also point out that even if privacy, anonymity etc means nothing to you, for some people in the world it can mean the difference between life and death.

@freddyym Yes, do! It's so good. I just watched Harari's recent interviews. I could watch/listen to him all day!

@freddyym Also an exceptional writer. Sapiens, Homo Deus etc. are some of my favourite books.

This is quite possibly my favourite person to listen to during this crisis. He's a historian and philosopher who is actively spreading awareness of the threats of surveillance that could come long after the pandemic is over. He's also extremely positive in the way that he looks at the crisis saying that we are more prepared now than ever before.

Watch some of the interviews linked bellow:

@gadonias
Personally I love the idea of a decentralised version of Reddit, and I don't know about the people behind it myself but just mentioning what I've heard.
