@yarmo I find myself in the same situation. Sick of seeing all these brilliant open source / FOSS repos are on GitHub and it requires an account to interact and contribute in any way. Personally host my projects on GitLab, but I've also considered Gitea, if for no other reason than the added control and decentralisation.

And on to the next unit I go for my course . This unit will be covering the 'defenders of digital rights' 🔐 ✊ , such as @privacyint @eff @torproject. :gnu:

So 's 'Get Book' feature is awesome. I never tried it before, but have just effortlessly found a DRM-free epub of Lawrence Lessig's 'Free Culture'. Win!

@freddyym Thanks. Do you mind if I quote a section of this article in the unit I'm working on?

Who wants to feature in the 'Why Privacy Matters' unit I'm working on for my course ? Just reply to this toot with your 'privacy pitch' - how you would explain to someone that matters. Any responses used will be anonymised and I will let you know if you're featured. Thanks!

I'm really considering investing in a @PINE64 , and will probably aim to run @debian on it. Have you got one? Let me know your thoughts.

I keep going to contribute to the documentation of projects I care about on @gitlab, e.g. @nextcloud, and noticing a account is required. Why is there still so much reliance on GitHub for repos on GitLab? Can anyone recommend projects to contribute to on ? I was pleased to notice @lineageos is on there...

Chronostasis

"A common occurrence of this illusion is known as the stopped-clock illusion, where the second hand of an analog clock appears to stay still for longer than normal when looking at it for the first time."

I've heard of that phenomenon before, but I didn't know there's even a term for it.

Not a developer but greatly admire them, and wish I had the experience to do more myself.

How many of us would it take to publicly persuade Mozilla to ditch #Google Analytics on their website?

They are on Twitter mobile.twitter.com/mozilla and instagram.com/mozilla/

@theprivacyfoundation
God I didn't realise they did. It's another sad example of how the good guys need to do business with the bad guys to make ends meet. Hence Google as the default search engine in Firefox.

The #Matrix crew are hoping to turn on #E2EE by default soon, with device cross-signing. Demo here, starts about 1:42:00: invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=

@tapaniraja
Took me a while to fix keybindings etc and then I discovered i3-gaps and had to download and run a custom script to install it for Debian (it's not in the repos). Love the gaps and the level of customisation overall.
