I recently started using OsmAnd+ for navigation during my longer bicycle trips. Thus far I'm pretty happy with it. It takes some time to get used to and according to F-Droid it has some anti-features. Perhaps I'll also try Organic Maps.

@ericbuijs same for me. I tried OrganicMaps and much prefer it now. Better look and feel, gyro works on my LineageOS handset etc. Only annoying thing is you don't seem to be able to set bookmarks as position and destination. And location services sometimes just doesn't work. But then that may just be my phone.

It's a pity Pure Maps isn't available on Android (it started on SailfishOS and is now on Ubuntu Touch, and also Linux through flatpak). IMHO it's the perfect compromise between Organic Maps and OSMAnd+. With OSM Scout Server it has offline maps. It has improved a lot in the past 2 years. I'd say its remaining weakness is navigation by voice. It only has synthesized voices and they are awful.

@normand I'm pleasantly surprised here by all the FLOSS options when it comes to navigation apps.

@ericbuijs
Yes, and GNOME Maps isn't too shabby either, but it doesn't provide turn-by-turn navigation, and has no offline feature either.

We're lucky OpenStreetMap exists.
