Two birds, one stone. Wear a mask to increase your protection against both #COVID19 and #AFR. If we're lucky, they might not even try to fine us for covering our faces this time (https://bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/campaigns/stop-facial-recognition). Fight #coronavirus. Fight #surveillance. π· β

I didn't say AFR cameras are racist. I'd recommend the following report (see p.19): https://bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Face-Off-final-digital-1.pdf -- It does a better job than I can of explaining the issue.
@syntax Setting aside the technology's poor reliability, do you consider yourself a libertarian? Freedom from government surveillance and interference is traditionally a libertarian stance.
@Korsier
Only to the extent that I advocate for civil liberties, I'm a privacy advocate and I'm concerned about civilian-government power imbalance. I'm not an anarchist; I feel very grateful for the public services my society offers. I wouldn't even wish away our intelligence agencies. They do crucial work. However, I take issue with governments (and corporations) claiming to be champions of human rights while happily engaging in mass surveillance. How about you?

I'm actually okay with #AFR. There has never been a right to privacy in public, and it would help with catching all these #BLM rioters who are out engaging in violence.
