@vaughan @syntax I noticed but I like Matrix's room with history model, similar to Discord. XMPP is more an instant messaging protocol, and all my friends already use WhatsApp or FB Messenger.

I wish I could get more use out of my own private XMPP server, but no one is interested :( - at least I have most of my contacts on Signal now though.

@syntax @vaughan I think that's the problem right there: how to get people to change from popular networks like WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.
