I'm about to jump down the rabbit hole that is #uMatrix. Wish me luck...
@FreePietje Thanks, I've also got a tutorial video lined up (https://invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=TVozpo3zUBk). By now I'm very familiar with the trial and error involved in finding the balance needed to view sites but still block unnecessary/bad scripts and domains, as I've been using uBlock Origin for about a year.
@syntax Yep, it's indeed trial and error. But it also gets to be a sport/game to find the absolute minimum of exceptions needed to get what *I* want :)
I used uBlock Origin before I started using uMatrix and I still use it.
@syntax Be patient!
@shreyas It's OK so far actually. I'm used to uBlock Origin so it seems familiar enough. I'll gradually build up my preferences as I return to my favourite sites etc.
@syntax
#uMatrix is the best add-ons I ever installed. By far.
You'll learn how poorly a lot/most websites are actually designed and how much spyware crap, like GA, is put onto those websites.
Once you start using #uMatrix you'll be protected from that crap.
By default.
When you first start using it, quite a bit of websites will be broken. But it's not hard to create exception rules to unbreak them.
The Recommended 'uMatrix tutorial' video on
