@nikolal I've been trying to download the Ubuntu image but it keeps failing.
It came with a screen protector already installed from the factory. Nice touch!
OK first impressions after 30 minutes. I tried both Plasma Mobile Neon and Plasma Mobile Manjaro. Neon is definitely snappier. I couldn't find any way to add new apps to Manjaro. Both connected to WiFi fine.

@ajeremias @eff EFF tends not to give specific app recommendations in the last few years. They were up until 2018 but then stopped doing so. They post more guidelines now and its up to you to make specific app choices. They do still have older articles like this one hanging around though. @nikolal KDE or Mate or other? I ran KDE for about a year on a thinkpad. Then I put Mate on a low spec Lenovo with AMD cpu and loved it, so I reimaged the Thinkpad with Mate. Super fast!

Twitter wants to decentralize because they see how fast Mastodon and other decentralized networks are growing and Jack wants to monetize that.
He doesn't care about a freer, more open internet, he cares about watching Mastodon grow and that he's not making money off it.
