@jenn Not silly at all! But be ready for them not budging. If they are on Android, Signal is the best first step since you can still use SMS. Ease them into it!

@win10ltsc If you go with an older intel based laptop it would need to be of the Core2 generation or earlier. I have one of the last desktop Core2 quad chips without ME running Mint just fine. An old Lenovo laptop might fit the bill.

Hi Sifr, I am new here as well. Maybe I should do an introduction too. In my personal time I mostly use Manjaro, Mint and MacOS (work is a different story). Breaking things is sometimes the best way to learn! 😆

Fellow privacy enthusiasts, what would you recommend for profile settings? Should I list in the directory and lock account to manually approve followers? It looks like I've already got a spam bot from Cloudflare following me. I fully understand anything posted here should always be considered fully public, if I want a private conversation I will use a properly encrypted platform.
