This shows once again why we must keep fighting for freedom of speech. As consumers, we can show companies that values matter. Leave big tech behind and choose services that respect you and your right to privacy and freedom of speech: https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/how-to-leave-google-gmail/

If anyone ever tells me that privacy doesn't matter I try to tell them this:

This is interesting. But who audits the ones using software under that license?

@jsummer Questions are always a good way to learn. 🙂
Partially yes. The thing is that many apps need Google services to run at all. It's not only the Play Store but several services in the background.
That's when alternatives like MicroG kick in. But you have no guarantee that your apps will work.
I personally use F-Droid as a Play Store alternative. F-Droid only lists FOSS apps which doesn't need Play Servcies.
There are other alternatives available, but I personally don't trust them.
@jsummer Ok, for maximum privacy Qubes OS is worth a look, but read through the hardware requirements carefully.
Tails might also be worth a look. It's designed to always run as a live environment.
@jsummer What would be your main objective for switching?
Ubuntu is based on Debian. Qubes OS is very special and needs explicit hardware.
After all, you can do almost the same things with all those distros with some restrictions on Debian (because not all applications are available).
@Wetrix Well, I don't think awesome matches my exact feeling about this idea... 😂
@blacklight447 Exactly.
@blacklight447 Even worse. Cars can actually be used to directly kill people.
I don't know how they get away with such stupid reasoning.
