@thor
Think this way. Actually this is a hobby, it always has been. But suddenly at some point they decided to pay for our hobby.
@marc0janssen Yes, so I did right :D
@thor I also had not heard the word gay furry until now, even though I am geek and gay.
I think all these are very cultural. I live in middle east and there is similar culture formed around LGBTQ. So here is good place to assess if we mean the actual person's sexual orientation by calling someone "gay" or are we referring to all the stereotypes and cultural stories attached to it.
@thor Interesting. I am trying to see if I can relate this to my personal story and experiences.
As far as I see, none of my close geek friends are LGBTQ. And none of my LGBTQ friends are geek. Except my mate. I think I am ruining your assumptions, lol. But believe my I am telling the truth.
@thor Nice theory but I am somehow a counter-example.
I assume myself a geek because I am still "playful and rebellious". Also I over-spend a lot of time creating things on computer and love alone time. I am not into cartoons, comics or video games. I have a mate. I am gay so the protection/safety thing is in question. My mate can also be identified as geek.
Of course one example proves nothing, but just to have an example on this side. :)
@Wetrix
Really? that's too horrifying. But yeah, maybe things are better like there is no nuclear war or world war, but there are still all kinds of cruelty in the world, especially for minorities.
Me myself, I'm living in a very extremist country and also I'm both in a sexual and religious minority. I am experiencing all kinds of inequalities and persecutions. Like they did not let me go to university and expelled me from school and many others. I'm living a semi-secret life.
@healyn
You are cute
