@aearil
What are you doing? Replacing or switching distros?

@marc0janssen
I hope you survived the movie. Eyes get wet hearing it's tune and remembering the final scene.

@pinkman For safety reasons I wanted to create another email and not use it anywhere else. But it did not let me as the verification needed a brand unused email. I thought they do not log verification emails.

@Wetrix I live in a very restricted Islamic country. I am also a member of a religious minority which is heavily persecuted (also as a side note I am gay too!). It was his third time, the government arrests and interrogates to force minorities out of country, to demonstrate power and make sure it is in control. It is insane, unreasonable and cruel.

I did nothing but it is totally possible to get arrested for no reason, be in jail for some months and the get released again for no reason.

Just wanted to share this neat *nix tool I found when setting up neomutt. It's called pass passwordstore.org . It lets you store your passwords locally, gpg encrypted.

@pinkman
I just signed up for VPN. It did not let me to use the same email for verification step of creating another Proton email account.

I'm worries and scared. I hope things go well. Things can end up pretty bad this time. I was with him ten days ago and now he is arrested. Sure he has was being followed for some time before he got arrested.

@one Thanks but it will be the same. If someone goes to reset my password by entering my email on Gitlab and have access to my phone, then he can reset the password.

I am trying to find a way to separate the email for receiving notification emails (like pipeline fails from Gitlab) from the main email used for password reset. I think this would not be possible.

@Codeawayhaley I have always heard that antimalwares are malwares themselves. I do not have antivirus installed on my Linux systems too, and I have not heard any body recommending antimalwares for linux-based systems.

Malwares in Anrdoid are usually normal apps which misbehave. They can be easily removed like other apps. I have been and Android user for years and have found nothing.

I thought maybe you have an evidence for real viruses on the platform.

Thanks

@Codeawayhaley Can you send me link to some news or article about android malwares and/or these antimalwares preventing them?

I cannot trust protonmail any more. At some point I had signed up for their VPN service and used my main email for verification. Now I wanted to sign up for an email and it says the email is associated with another account. I thought they do not save emails and use them only for verification.

I want to add another email to Gitlab to reset my passwords with. But receive all email notifications (like pipelines fails) on another account.

Security is really opposite of ease of use. How can I easily check my email but not having it logged in on my phone? If someone have access to my phone he can resets passwords everywhere.

I am reviewing all security settings everywhere.

A friend is arrested. I am really concerned about safety and security of my family now.

@TreacherousNexus@tech.lgbt I like pass as there is no complicated formats involved. Passwords are just one line of plain text inside a file. So there is messing with formatting as things are super simple.
