@thor Nice theory but I am somehow a counter-example.

I assume myself a geek because I am still "playful and rebellious". Also I over-spend a lot of time creating things on computer and love alone time. I am not into cartoons, comics or video games. I have a mate. I am gay so the protection/safety thing is in question. My mate can also be identified as geek.

Of course one example proves nothing, but just to have an example on this side. :)
