@sir Its easier to add more layers than to really think about your requirements for communication.

@nolan nooooo this is stupid and centralizes the internet EVEN MORE

@nikolal thanks for the explanation, that's give me the idea that other apps (like note taking that points to a self-hosted note taking app) could be made for similar functionality

@nikolal just curious, why would one not use their browser to check this on their phone?

I was finally able to critically think about my threat model and the top three things that could impact me the most is federal government (surprise to no one), malicious actors (think randsomware attack, criminals, botnets), and content owners.

Next step according to EFF is to figure out how much I care to protect against them.

One note, advertising was at the bottom (not Google's sharing with government but standalone was low for me)

In my search for privacy respecting laptop producers, I've come across pinebook, system 76, think penguin, Vikings, and purism.

I'm just at a load for which one to pick. I think I'm leaning toward newer and higher end with purism or system 76.

This choice is definitely harder than it should be.

@jonah thanks for the reddit post, definitely nice to see the involvement after just coming back from a privacy exhaustion hiatus

I definitely need to get off the pixel though and either upgrade it or go to a different phone

It's been a while since I've been on. I'm finishing up my bachelor's and had to have windows for online test I was taking.

Anyone use the think penguin laptops for business use?

@gaeel @tao @darius

I agree, having a financial plan doesn't have to be greed or profit based. It can be as simple as planning to not bounce a bank account or planning to expand a movement or resistance.

I stuck to the workouts for 1 week and going back this week! I think the key this time (and every time I've stuck with a program) is having set times that the workout can be completed and not just on me going when I can.

Also, starting a 72-hour pack, complete with Tails liveUSB, encrypted drive with emergency documents, and liveUSB Kali

@Yeet @Wetrix I showed up for a second round today, why you ask? Apparently I like physical punishment

@Wetrix @Yeet yes, I'm off and on with Jeet Kune Do. I appreciate the philosophy it borrows and the movements are simple but effective

@Wetrix @Yeet I did a basics CrossFit class yesterday, my everything hurts today. Probably a sign that I'm sorely (pun intended) out of shape

Been spending a lot of time here lately worried about my digital privacy health. Now it's time to spend on my physical health. Trying out CrossFit and no processed foods next week.

@freddyym are you saying more skeptical about graphene OS or brave?
