So here's a mystery: this website does not have #Cloudflare headers, but it uses an IP address that is owned by cloudflare: volkswagen-vans-online-auctions.co.uk Anyone know what is going on there? Are they somehow using CF for hosting but not for proxying?

@Iutech that's right. And underwood does not give a clearnet address either, so you can't receive clearnet email either. And in fact when i tried to email other onion addresses it bounced, so it may only be good for underwood to underwood msgs.

@spoon @antekone @weirdwriter i recall a dispute tearing the #mixmaster network apart. One group insisted on 4k keys (fearing that 1k was too weak), & the other group refused to deviate from the official specs which stuck w/1k keys. The debian mixmaster app conformed stictly to the standard, so it only produced payloads for 1k keys, which caused msgs to get lost whenever a 4k node was in the chain.

@antekone @weirdwriter actually scrap #mail2tor.com completely. When it emails a #bug to #debian.org, the msg is silently dropped & there is no way of knowing whether the sender or recipient is screwing up.

Note those alternatives are decent for /sending/ email; i've not tested which ones are excessively defensive w.r.t receiving email, but getting of #MACFANG services is an important 1st step.

@lschuermann @antekone @aran The only way that I'm willing to email a #MACFANG user is by old fashioned #FAX. If they have a fax#, then I can send a fax to them without touching their freedom-hostile tech giant, in which case their FAX provider sends a digital image of my msg to the MS/Google/Yahoo server.

@kicou @antekone that an important point. #Microsoft is actually worse than Google, as MS blanket rejects all dynamic IPs, whereas Google is hit-&-miss (or least that was the case back before I started a full on boycott of both)

@ScottMortimer @antekone the anti-spam response is way overblown & the unnecessary colateral dmg to legit senders is what broke email. The excessive block-all-dynamic-ip approach is very convenience for large providers who want everyone to depend on them anyway.

@aran @antekone @lschuermann you must be using a static IP, which makes a huge difference. Of course by bending over backwards to send to #MACFANG corps, you end up supporting them. I will not, so I run my mail server on a dynamic IP and refuse to email MS/Gmail/Yahoo recipients. I tell them get an ESP that works if they want mail from me.

@temporal i suppose "#+STARTUP: hideblocks" will work nicely on docs that use the code blocks exclusively for tangents

@temporal that's normally the construct for code blocks. Is there a way to have it folded by default, so the clutter isn't visible whenever the doc is opened?
