@dredmorbius web.archive.org still works, but it's unclear how long that will last since they announced some kind of partnership with . Once CF has pawned 70%+ of the web, CF and archive.org will collectively have enough power to render Tor practically useless.

@rysiek that website is broken for me. I just get a sideways menu bar on the left side and the links are inactive. Are we required to run javascript pushed by Cloudflare for that site to work?

@alcinnz @aral @gert I noticed page 8 says "Our livestock produce methane and nitrous oxide". I might be willing to take a hit for the team and consume any nitrous oxide that might be bad for the environment.. just drop the NOS tank off at my front door please.

@alcinnz @gert @aral One paradigm that speaks volumes is "the most sustainable stuff is the stuff you already have".

@aral @gert @alcinnz So I struggle with the idea of everyone dumping old CRTs to buy LCDs & dumping old cars to buy EVs, when EVs and their batteries take a huge toll on the evironment at manufacture time. How do we measure when an upgrade does more good than harm? It's non-trivial.

@alcinnz @gert @aral Yes, kind of. The bad side effect of that paradigm is that although machines become more efficient with each advancement, chronic upgraders use that as an excuse to buy new hardware every year. I think my 12+ y.o. hardware is good for the environment because I didn't dump 12 machines/phones in that span of time.

@whirli Now we need a search engine that gives the option of highlighting or giving high rankings to results that qualify for the 512kb Club.

@dredmorbius Actually makes that website a disaster with CAPTCHAs that demand running non-free javascript.

@david indeed. You would think the bettermotherfuckingwebsite.com would have improved on that, or surely thebestmotherfucking.website would have, but no. Guess the state of the art still needs to evolve.

@Br0m3x Perhaps we should designate a hashtag as well: (wbm abbreviates ) so those maintaing the list can search easily.

@Br0m3x You can simply mention them in this thread. I would normally be tempted to generally say run something like this: "git clone --config http.proxy=http://127.0.0.1:8118 git.sdf.org/deCloudflare/deClo" followed by: "git log --format='%aE' | sort -u" and pick an email address, but in this case that's a quite large download and most of the email addresses are fake.

Great web design tips every web developer should become familiar with: motherfuckingwebsite.com/

@angristan wait, so what does that mean? Is serving mjpeg files a way to make Cloudflare do all the heavy lifting? I'm surprized that's not the norm.. bizarre that CF makes the customer carry the burdon of serving mpeg videos.

@cryptoxic maybe he knew you were "cryptoxic", and thought you'd appreciate cryptic labels

@Coneng @jrswab The most privacy-respecting #searchEngine is currently #Ss, and it gives guite good results despite 30%+ sites having to be filtered out (privacy-offensive Cloudflare sites). We need more people using it. If no one uses Ss, there will be no control on #Cloudflare's growth, which will ultimately lead to bad results in the future.
