@mesh4545 If you install bcmaFX on , it will detect when you are visiting a site & automatically divert you to the archive.org for the page you are visiting. Then you can see the content without connecting to CloudFlare. You wouldn't want to login through there, but really it's better to never login to a CF site. I never create accounts on CF sites.

@mesh4545 A VPN does not protect you from . CF sits at the end of the HTTPS tunnel, so it sees all traffic (incl. uid & pw) in the clear. There are some tools to counter CF: codeberg.org/crimeflare/cloudf The docs are in Esperanto, but you don't need the docs. I suggest installing all of them. You can enable/disable to see what each does

@mesh4545 @IzzyOnDroid @blueberry @shelley protonapps.com is a site, which is also privacy abusive. Shame on for using CF. Izzy's site must the best repo to have PM. But note as well that Izzy's repo does not strictly have a FOSS-only rule, so you always have to check the license field. And indeed in this case it's good: android.izzysoft.de/repo/apk/c

@blueberry @shelley note as well that if you need to reach external users securely, you can add their key to your Protonmail address book to securely email them. You cannot do the same with .

@shelley @blueberry Are you using a desktop or phone? For phone, is better because it has an app on f-droid.org ( does not.. you'd have to get it from which is a privacy nightmare). If desktop, has , which is a 3rd party FOSS app that avoids having to trust on-the-fly javascript. Tutanota no longer works with Electronmail.

@deutrino @dajbelshaw A Swedish study was done around that time (~2015), and found 32 hours/week to be optimum for productivity. 5 hrs/day would seem to have too much relative overhead (1 hr of that is probably wasted on coffee-socializing, reading corp email, status meetings)

@deletescape @unsuspicious BTW, most employers had no problem with me switching to part time. But I did have one employer who refused, and demanded full-time or nothing. Over-selling my time was missing the point of living, so I quit.

@unsuspicious @deletescape Well it doesn't have to be "work 40+ hrs/wk or nothing". Just work a little. That's what I do. A full time gig pays triple what someone needs to be comfortable. So I'll work 1 year full time, then cut back to part time for a year, then take a year or two off; and repeat. Don't spend money like an American on shit you don't need.

Small drugs stores that have requested vaccines are still waiting, as the state has supplied all the large pharmacy chains. It's the large corps (, ) that are denying vaccine phone scheduling & restricting access to the vaccine to those willing to solve their . The small drug stores wouldn't refuse phone calls. Pressure the state to supply them.

@resist1984 I had to solve a #reCAPTCHA even for getting a COVID test. No way around. Except you use Google Chrome and are logged in. Then of course you don't notice anything.

The hate between reCAPTCHA and me is at least mutual. Usually I have to solve many rounds of recognizing boats, cars, traffic lights, bridges, boats again, ...

@gritnot also paragraph 9 & 10. I create robots, so CAPTCHAs oppress me more than others.

@gritnot I boycott 's & also . Paragraphs 2, 4, & 6 of this article cover hCAPTCHA well: git.disroot.org/cyberMonk/libe reCAPTCHA has the same issues + the additional problem of feeding Google, which amplifies Google's privacy abuses.

@NatCor i boycott walmart, CVS, Pfizer, reCAPTCHA, CloudFlare, & anti-tor sites. It's a recipe for disaster with the vaccine when supply is shakey & some vac sites are booked 6 weeks out.. an exceptional situation. All my boycotts may not hold up for vaccination.

This is the problem when the private sector is tasked w/public safety. It's not profitable enough for companies to take appointments over the phone & it's not profitable enough for them to manage spam. There are winners, and there are losers. The winners of vaccine scheduling are losers of digital privacy & freedom. The healthcare losers are winners of digital privacy & freedom.

Those trying to schedule a vaccine by phone are refused by & forced to use the website (so WalMart makes healthcare conditional on having internet access). *After* walmart.com collects your personal details, it then forces a . If you refuse the , you don't get your shot but WalMart gets to keep the data you supplied to them.

's Tor hostile website is blocking appointments even to non-Tor users if the site believes the browser is too old, redirecting users to a page that says "Upgrade browser for the best Rite Aid experience". These assholes are going to be persnickety about browser versions during a pandemic.

Some online vaccination sites are forcing Google on those trying to schedule appointments; some are blocking Tor; some are simultanously snooping & blocking Tor (using ); some sites are broken unless you run non-free Google js. Even sites that are centralized by the state governor are Tor hostile. Some Tor-hostile pharmacies refuse phone scheduling.

@eletrotupi some companies match donations, sometimes by a factor of 2. So Alice gives $100; Alice's employer gives $200. I'm actually not clear on how companies justify it to their shareholders. Conventional corporations are formed with a company constitution that puts profit above all. Isn't it still rare that a corporate constitution puts social goals above the bottom line?

This "#Cypherpunk.is" site wrote an article about how #CloudFlare is a honeypot selling snake oil and now they have become a CF site themselves. They deleted their article hoping no one would notice, but we found it: web.archive.org/web/2019040217 #hypocrisy
