@chiraag once the registrar is confident they are talking to their client, they supply a token which is then given to the new registrar. The pw reset obviously can't rely on me having login creds, so if they trust my email address for that then it'd be no different than simply emailing the transfer token to the email address on file.

@chiraag in principle a pw reset doesn't require login creds, so the registrare is being lazy & trying to save a buck, which is perhaps why they opted for CF.

@benis SG works partially, which is actually the worst case. That is, some aliases work and some do not. The aliases that don't work show that the forwarded msgs counter increases yet the message never arrives, so email is getting blackholed.

@eff It's a mixed bag. It sucks that banks discriminate (I've been refused an acct & the bank wouldn't even give a reason). OTOH, if banks are forced to serve anyone, this could be an advancement on the #WarOnCash. That is, saying "the bank can refuse to serve me for any reason" will no longer be a defense for keeping cash.

I set a higher standard of ethics for young people. Great grandma may be racist but to some extent the hard-wiring from that generation is impossible to correct & only leads to frustration. The best you can do is teach them to hide their racism in public. But when someone /younger/ than me is less progressive or supports #Trumpism, they can fuck right off. They are not welcome.

@dsv @redstarfish For #CloudFlare, there are a few plugins. The #CloudFirewall plugin can detect many CF sites. There is a more interesting plugin that will automatically redirect attempts to visit a CF page to the cached version of the page in archive.org. There is also a plugin that will strikeout CF links on a page, so you know a page is CFd before you even try to visit it.

@redstarfish @dsv the #CloudFirewall plugin will detect #Amazon-hosted sites (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cloud-firewall), so certainly convenience of knowing is not a barrier. But it's extremely impractical to avoid all AMZN sites for every article that you read. So I draw the line at #AMZN sites that need a login & sites that would call for regular visits.

Any #Spamgourmet users out there? Anyone notice cases where the forward counter increases but the msg never arrives?
