@protonmail "Are you an iOS developer who wants to challenge the big tech giants?"

I can answer that for everyone: no. One who wants to challenge the big tech giants is inherently not an iOS developer.

@angristan This is why and were caught spending on . That video really helps clarify their role.

The most evil of all oil corps is . It was interesting to see connected to them.

The single most -respecting search engine is searxes.eu.org, but it's currently down due to attack. It may be a few weeks before it recovers.

Until then, has an onion site in english (b7cxf4dkdsko6ah2.onion/en) which also has a proxy feature. There is also mojeek.com and ecosia.org.

@torproject
What's really going on here.. your changes make it easier for those blocking #Tor to block more connections in an automated fashion. Before this change, the Tor community benefitted from being able to pick a new exit node to access their banks before the firewall downloaded the list. Now we will be instantly blocked.

You say this will help web admins redirect Tor users to their onion sites, but #PrivacyInternational was already doing that.

@wintgenstein Cuban life expectancy surpassed the US this year lol

@paulakreuzer @fruechtchen @switchingsoftware Don Henley famously said at one of his performances: "go ahead and pirate my CDs - I would rather my fans steal from me than the record label." (according to Richard Stallman, who I think said Don Henley only got like 10 cents per album).

@switchingsoftware @fruechtchen @paulakreuzer The live performances are not subject to compensation to record labels, as I understand it.

@paulakreuzer @fruechtchen @switchingsoftware indeed. But just to be clear, I think very large majority of performance revenue goes to the artist, independant or not. Record sales have a predatory clause that states the record label can collect their costs first, which is abused so artists less popular than Madonna get nothing from record sales.

@paulakreuzer @switchingsoftware @fruechtchen The best way to support an artist is to attend their concerts. Not sure about actors but I suspect they get more from theater revenue.

@paulakreuzer @switchingsoftware @fruechtchen When you buy a DVD, aren't you contributing to royalties? Sony is very evil. As an member, Sony sponsors US rt-wing politicians, the NRA, and all right wing values. Sony has also been caught using GPL code in their proprietary DRM software. If movies are like music CDs, only a tiny fraction of the sales goes to the artist. Many artists get zero from record sales.

@fruechtchen @switchingsoftware @paulakreuzer Everyone who worked on a movie for a wage or salary already got paid. It's only the studios and wealthiest who take a hit on piracy, and some of the studios are worthy of boycott anyway -- in particular.

@paulakreuzer @switchingsoftware @fruechtchen I don't wholly oppose capitalism but I boycott a lot of the players involved (/netflix, , /vizio), so I generally agree with you. The problem w/illegal downloading is all the sites are on . I CF myself. My family (who has the smart tv) is too low-tech to handle the task.

@Rastal The system suddenly started glitching out mid-film, ~2-3 times per film. It's been happening for ~2wks. When I accused tech support of pushing a bad update, they said they've not pushed an update since 2016. So maybe that's the problem. The streaming service probably made a change that the apps can't deal with.
