@angristan Maybe they're competing in being an /ethical/ suppier -- in which case they're quite easily beating #AWS.
@ilpianista Since you seem to have ties to Italy, I also suggest watching this: https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=duaYLW7LQvg
Italy is trying to become less dependant on #Microsoft.
@ilpianista Plz don't use #github. #Microsoft is not a good company to empower. In addition to these issues:
https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium/issues/795
MS gave $100k to the Cloakroom to hide meetings between conservative US republican politicians & corporations.
If I find a bug on a github-hosted project, I do not report it b/c of all the red tape in loggin in.

@Tutanota @ilpianista @kot Can you explain why you think local storage can't be encrypted? I've encrypted my local storage both at the hardware layer and in software (LUKS). The pgp encrypted email I receive stands as a 3rd layer of encryption.
As for knowing if the msg was sent securely, you seem to be assuming the bridge would entail decrypting the message. If the bridge passes the message as-is, then recipients will obviously know if it was sent using encryption.
@strypey I hope more ppl begin realize it's a bad idea to rely on capitalism for medicine. Corporations profit from discovering drugs that entail a lifetime of treatments, not from cures where the patient makes just one purchase. Indeed publicly funded R&D would counter that problem.
@lightweight looks like https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=duaYLW7LQvg works if using the web UI to download a webm version
@lightweight also tried https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=duaYLW7LQvg and got "the media could not be loaded".. perhaps the video is formatted for some proprietary codec
@lightweight would like to see it but cclive can't access that video ("Checking ... .libquvi: error: .../share/libquvi-scripts/0.9/util/resolve_redirections.lua:60: The server responded with the code 204")
@jalcine Great intentions but absolutely despicable that they jailed that project in #Microsoft #Github, thus feeding an enemy of their own mission and subjecting users to MS surveillance and control. Those boycotting ICE-feeding corps are fundamentally blocked from contributing to that project.
@Framasoft Here's the shit alternatives--
#Authorstream,#MediaFire,#Wattpad: trapped in the Great Wall of #CloudFlare
#calameo: registration blocked by Google reCAPTCHA
#Dropbox: Condaleeza Rice is on the board
#4shared: spam hell & broken anyway
#ISSUU: uses Amazon AWS; requires registration with non-disposable email acct
#Scribd: paywall with 30 day trial
#Slideshare: svc denied to non-MS #LinkedIn users
#Smashwords: verification email never comes if using a disposable email address
@Framasoft a frama service should only be dropped if there is a decent viable alternative

@Framasoft That's bad news! #framadrop is important.. there's no acceptable alternative.
Everytime you visit the #yelp website, you give them power.
Yelp is corrupt. When business stop paying Yelp, Yelp deletes positive feedback. Yelp is also a #privacy abuser. Yelp forces users to compromise their IP address by blocking #Tor. Yelp also refuses business responses unless they include a photo of the business owner.
Stop giving Yelp power.
@shiro the fact that TWTR demands either your ph# or your IP address is why I'm constantly telling schools and companies it's socially irresponsible to use TWTR and not Mastodon/GNU Social. This is what makes twtr *exclusive*, and public schools should not be exclusive.
@blkstarseed General Motors (GM) sponsors Fox News and patronizes #FedEx (an NRA-supporting ALEC member), so fuck them anyway.
@strypey AFAIK the ph# is mandatory if you use Tor. Even grandfathered accounts will (for no obvious reason) suddenly get locked until a ph# is given.
Not sure if the pic matters on twtr but ppl have reported the opposite effect on Facebook. That is, after assigning a human pic FB demanded phone verification.
@strypey I suppose you need a twtr acct for that?
I've been driven off twtr by an ultimatum demanding I supply a phone#. I'm happy to be off twtr for the most part but there are times I need to reach an organization there & I'm blocked (b/c twtr isn't getting a phone# from me).
@tootbrute @strypey No doubt a lot of fools would share all that sensitive info with a centralized corporation with blind trust & reckless disregard.
But perhaps streetwise ppl would also benefit incidentally, as tickets sold under the current non-data-driven status quo would have to compete on pricing. And LCCs could discover more routes, thus increasing suppliers in competition.
