@kezzbracey@linuxrocks.online @unklebonehead There is netlify.com but they push another evil: Amazon AWS. So I don't really have a good suggestion. I know there is a #freesoftware CDN tool, but I've not looked into how it works or if you still have to find someone to run a server.
@kezzbracey@linuxrocks.online @unklebonehead Blocking Clown-fucked Mastodon instances is a good move. The whole point to Mastodon is to #decentralize, and yet some idiots #centralize their nodes in the #CloudFlare #walledgarden. Outcasting such instances is progress. Otherwise if toots get copied outside that walled-garden ppl are getting a feed they cannot or will not interact with.
@cloudflarelink@ieji.de @WeAreFairphone
Fairphone.com is jailed in #cloudflare? Wow, that's embarrassing for an #ethics-focused vendor.
@Nono @cloudflarelink@ieji.de For the times that you are motivated to check this tool can make it easy:
Also, that bot is doing a public service so your readers know to avoid a site or to easily visit a safe archived copy of it.
@Nono @cloudflarelink@ieji.de Indeed. CloudFlare is a #walledgarden that is damaging to #privacy and #netneutrality. It's like posting a Facebook link outside of FB to the general public, where only those with FB accounts can access them. #CloudFlare is exclusive and restricts who may view websites under their control.
#duckduckgo is using merchmadeeasy.com (a CloudFlare site) to sell #DDG t-shirts. Unwitting privacy advocates share their name, address & cc# with CloudFlare Inc. in a foolish attempt to financially support a profit-driven corporation that only pretends to promote privacy.
@wowaname @alexa@fedi.absturztau.be @jeffcliff@niu.moe Indeed.. it's despicable that some mastodon & #gnusocial nodes appear on CF. Those admins either don't grasp the #netneutrality purpose of federating or they fail to realize that CF is entirely counter to net-neutrality.
@stman @jeffcliff@niu.moe ..it's revolting how quick they are to silence ppl, you would expect devs of anonymity tools to have some appreciation for unhindered speech (the idea being that the only trully free speech is anonymous speech).
@stman @jeffcliff@niu.moe
I concur with @torproject's propensity for censorship. Simply pointing out inconvenient facts in their IRC channel can trigger emotional response & kickbanning, for example. They are hot-headed kids.
@rms cashless stores are indeed an attack on privacy and consumers should be boycotting them.. not sure I'd agree with a legislative solution though.
@rms Boeing should be boycotted anyway for being an ALEC member and sponsoring Fox News. Here's how: https://steemit.com/travel/@apertus-cogitari/how-progressive-travellers-can-boycott-boeing-and-why-general-electric-is-on-the-evil-list-as-well
@BurungHantu @Amnesty_International_Freiburg
Thanks but I think the one I followed in the past was in English.
Thanks!
Where did these Tor and Amnesty accounts move to?

@ansuz @cryptpad If you read the forums on the surrounding issues, OWS is clearly a bad player with profit at the forefront of their mission. They mislead and manipulate for the corporate bottom line. They get zero credit for ethics from a deontological standpoint. If someone can harvest some useful code from them and re-insert it into an ethical ecosystem, that's great, but there is no good reason to recommend Signal app to the general public. You might as well endorse Facebook's Whatsapp.
@ansuz @cryptpad Jami was rough when I tried it ~1 year ago. Not sure if it has stabilized, but in terms of ethics no other tool comes close to Jami.
Signal just replaces 1 walled-garden with 6 walled-gardens. I don't call that a step in the right direction. It's designed to trap users just like other corporate social media projects, and then use the clientel as bait to trap more users.
