I'm planning to work remote from somewhere warm this winter (dec - mar). Where should I go? 🌍
@Gina Looks like a beatiful place and "Costa Rica signs law to attract digital nomads" https://ticotimes.net/2021/08/11/costa-rica-signs-law-to-attract-digital-nomads
@ghostdancer @Gina That article is quite interesting and I'm glad you posted it, but I have to say it goes to a #Cloudflare-jailed exclusive #walledGarden. This is a better link to share: https://www.bizlatinhub.com/moving-to-costa-rica/ or http://web.archive.org/web/20210816035705/ticotimes.net/2021/08/11/costa-rica-signs-law-to-attract-digital-nomads
@Gina @ghostdancer BTW, I suspect #NewZealand would also be a good choice since their seasons are inverted from your hemisphere, and also they have the #covid19 thing well under control.
@edavies @ghostdancer @Gina yeah i thought it might be. I recall looking at the point system several years ago and it looked like i fell short of the requirement. I guess that's way wealthy ppl like Peter Thiel are spending lots of money to get NZ citizenship.
@Gina @ghostdancer @edavies But indeed, the #covid19 travel restrictions to #NewZealand are no joke: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/covid-19/border-closures-and-exceptions/entry-to-new-zealand/critical-purpose-reasons-you-can-travel-to-new-zealand It seems if you are vaccinated, test negative, and are willing to quarantine there is still no way for most ppl with no history in NZ to enter.
@resist1984 @Gina @ghostdancer @edavies yeeeah it’s a bit crazy, it I would have suggested it myself. My brother goes to Aussie for work and struggles to get back into NZ (We’re nz citizens).
@Gina @ghostdancer @edavies although I also vaguely recall a list of careers that were in short supply which eased immigration, and the IT sector was on that list.
