Shitty admins block the entire server because of that one person
Yeah, it seems like people don't understand:
The whole point of federation is so one server can be shit without ruining the entire culture
Instance blocking is forcing the entire userbase of the instance that's unrelated to the one bad person and your entire userbase into your shitty decision on short or no notice and without any recourse.
@nytpu Mastodon.social apparently cherry-picks just 1 account they want to block. E.g. they block altlink@mamot.fr (instead of all of mamot.fr, I think). So it's a shame there are sloppy power abusers who block a whole node over one individual. BTW, if you are not on mastodon.social, I suggest following altlink@mamot.fr. It's a beneficial bot that DMs you when you post a #Cloudflare link.
@nytpu The perverse thing about the way #mastodon.social blocks an account is they print a false msg to the user saying “this account has been suspended”, when in fact the account is quite functional (it's only been “suspended” on another node not by mamot.fr).
