#Lowes & #Macys are both using #FacialRecognition on customers who enter their store. #Boycott them.

@ReadSieg @tuxicoman I'm sure that's happening, but I should mention after some digging into this that #Lowes has answered tuxicoman's question. They say it's to deal with shoplifting. I'm sure the real reason is much more than that but that's Lowe's official reason.
@tuxicoman @ReadSieg The way I see it, shoplifters are not a threat to Lowe's staying in business, so it's non-essential for Lowe's to use FR. They are using FR to boost profits, and they are probably using it to the extent that ReadSieg conjectures. As consumers, we should #boycott. It's the one way to counter the profit-driven incentive to track people.
@ReadSieg @tuxicoman By comparison, we might imagine that a casino without FR would be sunk by cheaters, and the business might even be unsustainable without FR. In that case, I'm not so fast to condemn FR. Just an example.. I'm not really sure if FR is essential to a casino's survival.
