To those trying to select a linux distro: one of the most important factors in which distro to choose is *support*. .com sadly neglects this. So ppl will choose a distro like b/c the description might be just what they're after, but .de shows not a single IRC channel for it. Choose , then later discover the docs are jailed in .

@resist1984 (Just found this post from you replying to my other post)

I think both Guix and Debian tend to be tor-friendly / cloudflare-free

@cwebber indeed debian is.. not familiar with guix though. BTW, I noticed your link is CF'd of the blocking variety. And your Nestle post is a CF link. I suggest following @altlink so you get an automatic warning on CF links.

@Xantulon yeah, i heard some people see that. It's misleading, because mamot.fr did not suspend the altlink account. It's actually your own instance (mastodon.social) that is blocking you from following altlink. If you follow altlink from a different instance than mastodon.social, it will work.

@resist1984 well, that's disappointing, and a misleading status.

@Xantulon yeah it's a bit dispicable that works in that way. If a block is in place, it's only just to know who's behind the blockade.

Follow

@Xantulon I created and monitor several accounts for that reason.. if there are shenanigans with one instance I want to mitigate the impact.

@resist1984 I've explained that necessity to people I've introduced to #Mastodon, but I've never done it myself. I guess I hadn't had a compelling enough reason...

@Xantulon You might find this page useful: fedisus.dokku.hackr.org/ It tracks which nodes are blocking other nodes. Caveat: I think it's incomplete.
