Another nail for DuckDuckGo.

It turns out it uses DarkSky for the contextual weather forecasts.

DarkSky was acquired by Apple last year.

@lig I'm still using ddg, I don't know I like the results (or I got used to them) and I like it not being coupled to any accounts I have, so while it may not be the best one, it works for me at least :)

@sotolf I'm going back to Google.
Reasons:
* I still need to go back to G instead of DDG for some complex searches.
* DDG has too much gray partnerships for me.

@lig @sotolf I don’t quite understand that reasoning. I understand using Startpage/Google for complex searches, but DDG is making all these partnerships in a privacy-respecting way that make the search engine better for all its users (usually by proxying requests). Instead, you’re going to trust Google for everything?

For example, DDG using Apple Maps is much better than OSM. I could hardly use OSM to find a specific place I entered word for word

@blueberry @sotolf @lig is hosted by & also uses MS for Bing searches, so MS can see both your IP and your search query. I wouldn't call that making the partnerships "in a privacy-respecting way".
