I have no idea what these insects are, but they do a great job of cleaning the black mold that inevitably grows on the bathroom ceiling every winter and is difficult to clear, then they disappear until next year and do the same!
@acesabe I think they're weevils. I had no idea they were beneficial cleaning bugs. I kept finding dead weevils. No idea where they came from, or why they surface and then die shortly after. Guess they run out of mold.
@resist1984 not sure about weevils, these are 2mm max and only appear to eat the tasty black mould! Pretty sure spiders come along to eat them next! My bathroom is wild!
