A list Corporations I have been boycotting:
Amazon (stallman.org/amazon.html)
Coca-cola (killercoke.org)
Uber (and similar) (stallman.org/uber.html)
I think that's it for now.
@redstarfish how do you avoid things like aws? feels like thats a pretty good portion of the web.
I am aware that many websites uses aws, but I am not using it directly. I can't even tell which website uses aws by just visiting it.
In any any case, just because I can't avoid one of its product (indirectly) doesn't mean I shouldn't avoid others or try to.
@redstarfish I asked because I was curious, not to blame you or tell you that you're wrong. I think its good to avoid it as much as possible, even tho its next to impossible to avoid it completely. its a shame that companies like amazon and cloudflare got their hands on such a big part of the internet
@dsv @redstarfish For #CloudFlare, there are a few plugins. The #CloudFirewall plugin can detect many CF sites. There is a more interesting plugin that will automatically redirect attempts to visit a CF page to the cached version of the page in archive.org. There is also a plugin that will strikeout CF links on a page, so you know a page is CFd before you even try to visit it.
@dsv @redstarfish Guess i should also mention that there's a little known search engine that filters #cloudflare out of the results: https://search.nnpaefp7pkadbxxkhz2agtbv2a4g5sgo2fbmv3i7czaua354334uqqad.onion/ Caveat: I can no longer get it to work because #Firefox now disallows us from using a bad SSL cert even when it's an onion site.
