Does anyone have suggestions for an accessible (and libre) word processor?
My father is a writer and has been using LibreOffice through all its iterations (starting from StarWriter on DOS) but starts to struggle now due to Parkinson's. For him, a click too easily becomes a drag, moving symbol bars around or resizing elements on the page. Often, he triggers functions unintentionally.
An editor with a simpler interface (maybe even w/ a simple file manager) could make a big difference for him.
@resist1984 @oilyfish Yes, I think that would actually be a big improvement over how he turns things in right now..
The most important thing is really that he doesn't have to deal with a complicated UI but can still do *some* formatting (or I won't be able to convince him..).
Ideally, there are only few (large) buttons, and no other sensitive elements (no tabs, clickable status indicators, ...)
I'll look some more into asciidoc editors -- thanks again for the tip!
@oilyfish @hanno i also suspect that he could write in #Asciidoc, and if his work would be published professionally it seems to be trivial to convert it to LaTeX for a pro to edit.
