At some point, the DNC will realise that almost no one wants a president Biden. No. One.

Dog won't hunt.

The DNC clearly doesn't want voters to nominate Bernie Sanders. Maybe the problem isn't Sanders. Maybe the problem is the DNC. Maybe they need a reboot. The whole US federal government and partisan organisations need to remember that they exist for the voters, not the other way around.

@lightweight
This seems to be no different from last time, except it was Clinton not Biden.

@fitheach I'd never vote for Trump personally, because I demand a leader with integrity, honour, grace, and intelligence. And I also couldn't bring myself to vote for Clinton.

@lightweight @fitheach not voting is a vote for . Hopefully enough of the population has come to understand that protest votes inflict self-harm, after & in the US.

@resist1984 @fitheach I voted, but not for either of the oligarchy candidates. Strategic voting signifies a badly broken democracy. I intensely dislike the US duopoly and will work hard to break it. I think a Clinton presidency would've been almost as bad as Trump for the world. And that's saying something, given the unmitigated disaster of the #Drumpfsterfire. But the world needs the US to completely wash out its federal gov't. I think only Bernie has a chance of doing that.

@lightweight @fitheach How can you think the world cares in the slightest about Hillary's email server & trust issues compared to having a denier as head of state of one of the most important countries to fighting ?

@resist1984 @fitheach neither I nor the world care a bit about Clinton's email. We hate the US' interventionist moral ineptitude and general arrogance. She is a war monger and a corporatist. Those are precisely what the world needs least.

@lightweight @fitheach if you believe that, then it makes no sense to favor . Right wing () leaders pushing a white nationalism agenda are exactly the sort of ppl the world doesn't want in power, for the reasons you state

@resist1984 @fitheach I despise Trump. I never suggested I support him. You're suggesting that by not voting for Clinton, I put him into power. No. You're badly mistaken. The poor desperate idiots who voted for him put him into power.

@lightweight @fitheach Nonsense. are hard-core voters -- voting is crucial to them b/c they are in the minorty. It's the non-voting (protest voters) who are responsible for Trump. That's on you.

@resist1984 @fitheach Nope. Responsibility comprehensively rejected. The people who voted for Trump are the ones you need to take to task. And the ones in the DNC who rejected Sanders in favour of Clinton. That was also criminal.

@lightweight @fitheach nonsense. You're blaming republicans for being republicans. Non-voters are to blame. Non-voters allowed Trump to win. It's non-voters who screwed things up for themselves and for the country (the world, in fact)

@resist1984 @fitheach your entire narrative is messed up. The Dems don't stand for the sort of fundamental structural change that the US absolutely requires to become a modern, just, equitable society. They are beholden to the same corrupt influences as the GOP. Any candidate who doesn't overturn Citizens United on day one, is unworthy of consideration.

@lightweight @fitheach you need to read more about Bernie (a democrat). Election reform is a big part of his platform.

@resist1984 @fitheach Heh - Bernie's a democract only because that'd be the only way he could get elected in the US' broken duopoly. He's not a natural democrat, he's always been independent.

@resist1984 @fitheach and as I've said throughout this thread, Sanders is the *only* candidate who's worthy of election, as far as I can see, precisely because of his commitment to killing Citizen's United (which, it must be said, is a painfully ironic name).

@resist1984 @fitheach I support him *despite* his running as a democrat, because I know he's only chosen that side because there wasn't really another option. Of course the Democratic establishment is *desperate* to ensure he doesn't win the nomination... but I think he just might do it. If he does, I'm confident he'll win the election.

@resist1984 @fitheach and I'm equally confident that *no other Dem candidate* could win the election. If the DNC selects anyone but Sanders, I'm completely convinced we'll have another term of Trump.

@lightweight @fitheach that's rediculous. Bernie is too far left with the "socialism" label pinned on him to get swing voters. He's the best candidate, but not the strongest. Warren and Klobachar are stronger candidates against Trump.

@resist1984 @fitheach I disagree. I think only a fool continues to think that US voters still have stupid prejudices about Socialism - they see the rest of the modern world (which is almost all to the left of even the Dems) rightly putting the US and its establishments to shame. I live in one of those countries, NZ. And I know the US would be better by far with President Sanders.

@lightweight @fitheach you grossly over-estimate US voter intelligence, which is quite hard to do after the 2016 election.

@resist1984 @fitheach I have a desperately low impression of US voter intelligence, but I think even a lot of those driven entirely by self-interest & pointless defiance now realise Trump's bad news. What they require is someone who's not just more of the same shit that's been slung by *both* parties for my entire lifetime. That leaves Bernie Sanders.

@resist1984 @fitheach I suspect for many of the disaffected, Sanders will be another "protest vote" like Trump was last time... but in this case, that'd be a very good thing.

@resist1984 @fitheach if a large proportion of US voters want to say "fuck this shit" at the polls, as they did last time, I know who I'd rather see as POTUS as a result.
