@phryk @pettter I also think the web is far overused. We should be able to FTP::get our bank statements, for example. When the web's dominance surged I thought it was just to get service to non-technical users, & that users would get smarter & move to SSH, FTP, IRC, etc, but no the web just got more bloated, so millions of ppl needlessly blow more money on hardware.
@pettter @phryk I'll cut the rant short here, and just say that #Mastodon is bloated, though less than #Pleroma. A good client is #bitlbee with the Mastodon plugin, which seems to be quite lean.
