This problem has been solved by . Debian quality standards mandate man pages for every app. So run debian and only use official debian repos & you're guaranteed to have a man page.

@resist1984 but that's boring ! :( And I also like to be able to try out interesting apps preferably before they are two or three years old ^^

Also also, it shouldn't up to the maintainers to add the bare minimum in terms of docs.
