Wow. I just got blocked by a US Jew because I support #BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions), a campaign against Israel's open-air-prison treatment of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza, using similar strategy to that which brought down the similar #apartheid regime in South Africa:

To me, this is like a US German in the 1940s blackballing me for supporting sanctions against Germany for it's treatment of Jews. It's hypocritical in the extreme.
If anyone has any ideas on how to stop the Israeli state imprisoning, torturing, and killing innocent Palestinian civilians, bulldozing their homes, and militarizing their communities, ideas that you think are better than BDS, I'm more than happy to hear them and consider changing my position. By blocking me for raising it, @emacsen implicitly admits that he can't offer any better solutions and that his anti-BDS position is untenable, but he just doesn't have the moral courage to say so openly.
What do you mean you would "change your position"? You seem to be firmly on the side of human rights (thus #Palestine) regardless of #BDS effectiveness.
The fact that consumers are mostly apathetic politically & greedy is no excuse for a #Palestine supporter to evade their duty to BDS.
In the US, Israel has a stranglehold on politicians so BDS is the only option there.
In the EU, demand that politcians enforce the Geneva Convention w.r.t. Israel (& also #boycott).
Ok, I just found this thread:

@emacsen isn't clear but I suspect he equates a #boycott on all products touching a region as anti-that-whole-country-ppl-included.
Personally, I focus on #IDF suppliers (#HP, #Microsoft, #Bosche, #AnyVision, #Motorola). Also #Airbnb b/c the scumbags are renting property in the occupied region -- plus #PeterThiel is a scumbag anyway.
