Hey @Tutanota, did you plan to provide an "IMAP bridge" like your P competitor does? I would love to use the mail client I like more.
@Tutanota I found this https://tutanota.uservoice.com/forums/237921-general/suggestions/32716459-tutanota-bridge-app-for-mailclients-like-protonma, I do hope you either changed your mind or you don't mind if the "community" writes its own bridge
@ilpianista
Tutanota seems to have zero interest in ever making their email service accessible via standard email clients. Imo, that's a red flag that indicates something very fishy about them. For that reason, I'd never trust Tutanota for anything private or secure.
@Tutanota
@Tutanota @ilpianista @kot Can you explain why you think local storage can't be encrypted? I've encrypted my local storage both at the hardware layer and in software (LUKS). The pgp encrypted email I receive stands as a 3rd layer of encryption.
As for knowing if the msg was sent securely, you seem to be assuming the bridge would entail decrypting the message. If the bridge passes the message as-is, then recipients will obviously know if it was sent using encryption.
