So why do YOU care about online privacy? Is it more because of how businesses sell your data? Or more about your data being exposed in breaches? Or another reason altogether.
How far are you willing to go with online privacy and why?
@redcoqui Iโm willing to take the personal steps necessary to make me feel reasonably protected, but not have it consume my entire life to do so.
@gritnot that's my thought process actually. ๐๐๐ผ
@redcoqui For me, it's the profiling, potential for targetting and stifling innovation and creative freedoms in my own thinking.
That being said it's just annoying when websites track me across the internet!
@redcoqui All of that and more. Once I found privacy tools, I realized I had been self censoring myself for a decade. I knew what was going on even though I did not realize how far it would go. Now I imagine what is coming in the future and speak about it.
@redcoqui I just feel the world is on a need to know basis about me. ๐
@Wetrix ๐ You should get a Facebook page then. ๐
@redcoqui God no ๐
That's all I need is the Zuckertit knowing every detail of my life and he's not even gov or my employer!
@redcoqui short answer: yes.
I donโt want to be a manipulated product for profit. I donโt want to be manipulated for political gain. I want a community of like minded but open people, not bots or businesses. We can be different and thatโs okay.
