How come every instance has posts from only a handful of people?
@nk52sX3pY7 you only see posts from people on your own instance on the Local Timeline, or people that you follow on Home.
You can click Federated Timeline to see posts from people that *anyone* on your instance follows, or posts from any instance yours relays with. For example the social.privacytools.io instance is a member of https://relay.fediverse.us/ and https://relay.social.seattle.wa.us/ so it will see posts from any instances that are also members!

By default only local posts and posts federated by follows get visible on the local timeline. If yo want to change this add one or more relays to your instance. I did so and this is why I've seen your post and answered it.
