Holy crap, google is apparently taking down all/most fediverse apps from google play on the grounds that that some servers in the fediverse engage in hate speech. At least three apps I know of anyway and I'd imagine the others will follow soon under the exact same reasoning.} Seems to be the case with Husky, Fedilab, and "subway" tooter.

this is a scary precedent if google play is going to ban any apps that can in any way be used to access content with hate speech. So what about a forum client, do they take that down just because there is a forum somewhere on the internet posting hate speech?

This is particularly worrisome because for most people Google Play is the only way they understand to install apps at all.

Need gpg key of developer which owns Github or Codeberg repo? Enter this in your CLI to import it (assuming devs username is dev):

Codeberg: curl codeberg.org/dev.gpg | gpg --import

Github: curl github.com/dev.gpg | gpg --import

Thanks @leip4Ier@infosec.exchange for pointing this out

Some writings and config files which may help you have better grade on securityheaders.com for your website than your finals.

I'll be writing soon post about how to achieve A+ on securityheaders.com and 105 points on Mozilla observatory for very simple static website with no JavaScript (just locally served css and html) and also >95% Google page speed rating. I will also include nginx headers used and gzip compression for copy/paste purposes.

@yarmo
Hey, is there way to remove signed notations from gpg keys?

Hey I’ve been nominated for @hackernoon@twitter.com’s Security Advocate of the Year for my work w/ @privacytoolsIO@twitter.com 🎉 Throw some votes my way @ noonies.tech/award/security-ad 😄

You can put any archive in picture, just be sure that 700x700 pixels catpicture.jpg isn't 50GB heavy, that might be little bit suspicious.

Steganography is technique of hiding one file (e.g secret.txt) to another file (eg catpicture.jpg). Example in Linux terminal which directory is in folder where is your catpicture.jpg:
1. echo "Very secret text" > secret.txt
2. 7z a secret.7z secret.txt
3. cat secret.7z > catpicture.jpg
And thats it, to be sure that there is secret.txt in your catpicture.jpg just move catpicture to other folder cd into that folder and type:
4. 7z x catpicture.jpg
You should see your secret.txt file.

To be more clear, password to import secret key is not known

If I have password protected (you need password to import it in gnupg keyring) armored secret key is it possible to derive its public key from it?

#keyoxide 2.0.0 is here and I couldn't be more excited about this one: the entire backend has been rewritten in #nodejs 🎉 this will make it much easier to develop new features and tools all using a unified backend

I made a thing! Check out the terminal-based podcast manager I made, which just hit v1.0: github.com/jeff-hughes/shellca

This represents the largest coding project I've ever done (so far!), and my first project in Rust, but I'm incredibly proud of the result. Feel free to use, share, and contribute!

I just found this great privacy research and tech channel on #peertube that I feel a lot of people would appreciate:)

Take a look and show him some love

@sunknudsen

This is exactly the use case I was describing just recently. Single-user peertube instances for the greatest control meanwhile being part of the larger network.

Spin one up:)

I offer to my family VPN connection to my RaspberryPi which uses PiHole as DNS level adblocker. They seem very interested until I mention that I have possibility to see which websites they are visiting and they immediately seem uninterested, logically. I explain them that whatever DNS provider they use can see that data too and they don't care much about it. Anyway I recommend them to use Blokada and wonder why they don't trust me more than some shady ISP DNS :(

If you also experiencing problems updating Android WebView from Google with Aurora store then install Play Store just for that update and delete it afterwards. Anything else I tried didn't work

AXIOS on HBO interview with Trump was available on YouTube for my country last night and now it isn't. I also checked availability on Austria server via VPN but it also isn't available. Its available for US, but why ban Europeian countries that are in EU? Its that video that everyone meems, I'm just checking it out.
