@cjd @kravietz I think sharding and POS with help with scalability, also I think EIP1559 will be implemented soon. https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-1559
@ParmuTownley
It seems to me that its much faster than chess.com
@Wetrix
I liked it, very good acting.
If you are under impression of tv show "The Queens Gambit" and want to try yourself at chess I've found FOSS chess website with no ads and minimal javascript: https://lichess.org/about
You don't even need registration to play, and you can play with friends without registering
@syntax As backup you can make image of your SD card with dd. If your previous SD card fails you just flash that image onto new SD card and keep everything like your SD card never failed. As for longevity - thoughts and prayers.
@m_svo @syntax Its reliability depends on its purpose, I have RPi with SD for 3.5 years and had no problems with it. PiHole doesn't need excessive write to disk (if you disable dns logs) so it should be reliable for PiHole purpose. As for Nextcloud you definitely need some SSD for read/write speeds, I think that RPi4 can manage Nextcloud pretty well, I'm yet to try it when I get one.
@syntax I would go for SSD and zfs or btrfs filesystems, filesystems that have snapshot abilities to restore your server quickly if something goes terribly wrong, you could even plug in some HDD and sync those snapshots to it when you take them in case of full disk corruption.

This is a super interesting tool for organizing groups of people over #Signal:
https://signalboost.info/about/
(yes, the website is horrendous)
Enables broadcast or hotline service via Signal. This is different from regular Signal groups in important ways:
- broadcast: only the admins can send messages, which are sent to all users
- hotline: messages are only sent between a user and the admins who respond; nobody else gets them.
You can set-up your own:

@m_svo What bothers me most is that they did that silently. Maybe someone has need for Microsoft products on RPi but they had to notify users of optional repo to be added.
Microsoft repository installed on all raspberry pies, you can switch to other OS other than Raspberry OS (previously Raspbian) or you can take other steps to remove it. Make sure somehow to notify Raspberry OS devs that this is not ok. More on this reddit post (from teddit mirror):

@stampirl Yes, I've noticed it after toot lol
@clarjon1 smb:/path gives you that remote folder preview
@clarjon1 I figured that it also works for samba shares.
