I guess we are deep into age of VODs, only my parents watch what they are represented on tv, others just play something on Netflix or any other provider of that kind. I use tv mostly for watching movies and tv shows that I pirate. I guess we are just modern tv users?

To avoid big companies that make profit of your data selfhosting should be answer to it. I hope this podcast will show me what can be selfhosted and how its hard/expensive to set it up, I hope I can make good use of it.

I guess there are better options for cloud. If you want other provider use disroot.org, not US based, GDPR compliant and using Nextcloud. Downside is only 4 gigabytes for free.
