@sam I mean, it probably won't work since connection is not encrypted, but if that's the case you can use tor browser on android.

@sam Can you change on your router settings DNS resolver? Set it to Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 or Quad9's 9.9.9.9, your ISP shouldn't be able to see your requests.

It would, but I think Huawei will turn into Chinese "Apple" where they don't use open source and store everything on their servers, with encryption that government can break into. I hope they will turn to Ubuntu-touch, or other open source project that needs funding and development.

Question is, will this apply to other services like @Tutanota too, or just instant messengers?

@connorcreegan
You can go step further to manage all your subscriptions without google account, but it may not seem convenient at first.

They are low skill and they must blame someone else for their mistakes, that keeps their mind out of the fact that they are thrash.

@michal
Hello, tooting this from ubuntu touch. Install was smooth from ubuntu, but most of the apps are web-apps here. Os is looking nice but I recommend to stay on android. This needs more apps/development

Any good psychedelic/stoner low to mid tempo album you can recommend?

@michal
I was asking the same thing, gonna flash it in few days to try it. I'm doing so because there is no longer LineageOS for Nexus 5

Anyone using Ubuntu touch OS from ubports for your mobile phone? What is your experience with it?

@mikegrace
People need to understand that there are other services than google, they have too much power.

Also, Google will disable Gmail for Huawei users, you can setup Gmail to redirect your e-mail to other e-mail address, you can find free (and paid) privacy respecting e-mail providers here: privacytools.io/providers/emai
If you don't want to abbandon your Gmail you can use K-9 mail available from F-Droid repository as client for managing your Gmail if you setup your Gmail to use IMAP. Link to app: K-9 Mail (Full-featured email client) - f-droid.org/app/com.fsck.k9

With Trump banning Huawei to use Google services and apps these are some useful tricks to keep your device up to date with latest apps, and app alternatives. Install F-Droid, foss app repository. With F-Droid you can install these apps:
Yalp store or Aurora store - used to download and update apps from Play Store
Newpipe - Youtube player, play videos even with screen off, import subscriptions etc.
OsmAnd+ - Google maps alternative

I feel like this is natural way of how open source works, everyone can read its code but that doesn't mean that everyone likes it, Gargron is there to make a decision and for that he is very much needed. Imagine how unproductive updates would be if there is some vote system on what to implement and what not.

Since thepiratebay.org is getting infested with fake torrents with malware and if you are having problems with activating Windows/Office this should help you solve it.
