I offer to my family VPN connection to my RaspberryPi which uses PiHole as DNS level adblocker. They seem very interested until I mention that I have possibility to see which websites they are visiting and they immediately seem uninterested, logically. I explain them that whatever DNS provider they use can see that data too and they don't care much about it. Anyway I recommend them to use Blokada and wonder why they don't trust me more than some shady ISP DNS :(

@nikolal because you have a name and a face. People are a shame of others they know. Companies, a specially big ones, are nameless and "why would some randome joe be interested in what sites I'm looking at"

@stampirl But I'm not some random Joe, I'm their cousin. Maybe even stronger reason for them not to trust me

@nikolal I wrote it wrong. They trust some random guy from big corpo more then you because they don't know him, his nameless and they trust company policy more then there friends

@nikolal it's very sad that people trust company policy more then their friends

@nikolal
Well, I wouldn't trust cat with lennon glasses either.😅

@nikolal I think it's just human nature so nothing personal lol 😂

They would rather an anonymous thing sees what they do then someone close to them 😆🍃

@nikolal I agree, it's probably nothing personal. Also, keep in mind that your family members may not feel comfortable with you knowing which porn sites they visit. ;)

@TheDoctor
There is option to set hidden DNS requests, but truth is that I can alter that anytime. I would set hidden DNS requests and not snoop on their traffic, problem is that they know that I can alter that anytime. I know its nothing personal, its just little bit ironic :)
