Hey all
New to social media, privacy, security, coding.
I apologize in advance for silly questions.
Not sure if this is the appropriate way to post or not

first question
I’d like to chance my old MacBook into a server, but all I know about servers is that I can control a lot of what goes out and comes in to my home network. Where is a good place to start?

I don't know if you can turn your Mac into server but I guess you can install some Linux distro on it and then use it as server, still I recommend buying one of Rasberry Pis and then enter into selfhosting projects

@nikolal I’d love to get a raspberry pi! I looked and it seems that I can’t put pi hole on a Mac, which makes sense. But at the very least I was hoping to do some file sharing with nextcloud and wallabag. Thanks for your reply 🎩
