What annoys me most is that engineering software companies are not interested enough in making compatible software with Linux. My brother as electrical, some of my friends as mechanical and me as civil engineer are stuck with Windows for any kind of work, and people call Windows alive only because of gameing. Why is that the case I have no idea, maybe user base is not large enough for them to make money. And I'm willing to pay for some work software that is compatible with Linux.
@blacklight447
Sorry, I don't get it. What do you mean by "vote with your wallet"?
@nikolal It means you only buy stuff you want to support, and boycott stuff you dont want to support.
@blacklight447
Yes, I buy what I support, why whould I buy something I don't support? Don't see your point.
@nikolal Because you have so many different levels of computer competency in an organization MS Windows becomes the lowest common denominator to be usable for both the engineers and the ones who don't know where the power button is.
@nikolal the big problem gaming wise with Linux is it's much like Mastodon. It's splintered with so many distros that it makes compatibility issues a nightmare.

If it wasn't I would never use windows again but I love to game.
🙂
@Wetrix
Its true, too many distros. I would be happy if they made them compatible with any Linux distro, I guess popular Debian based like Ubuntu or Linux Mint should be a good start.
@nikolal Vote with your wallet, no linux? No buy.
